“Bread” Sticks (Gluten Free, Grain Free, Vegetarian)

Ingredients

You can alter the flavor of this grain free breadstick by adding different herbs and spices. Match the flavor to your meal. Having an Italian dinner, you can add basil, oregano or Italian seasoning. Having Indian food for dinner, add curry powder to the dough. Play with the flavors.

2 Cups Almond Flour/Meal

1/4 Cup Coconut Flour

1/4 Cup Flax Meal

2 TB Arrowroot Starch

1 tsp Garlic Powder (optional)

1 tsp Onion Powder (optional)

1/2 tsp baking soda

2 Eggs, beaten

1/2 Cup Plain, full fat Greek yogurt

4 TB melted butter, Extra virgin Olive Oil, or other liquid fat

1 tsp sea salt

1 tsp Italian Seasoning (optional)

Substitute Other herbs and spices, as desired

Directions

  1. Preheat Oven to 375 degrees
  2. In large bowl, mix almond meal, coconut flour, flax meal, arrowroot starch, baking soda, Italian seasoning, onion and garlic powder, or other herbs and spices of choice
  3. Stir in beaten eggs, yogurt, and fat Dough will be mushy and not dough-like. This is normal.
  4. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper
  5. Take a few Tablespoons of dough and form them into bread stick shapes about . inch thick. Place on the parchment paper a half inch apart. OR you can make a big square shape of the dough and, using a pizza cutter, score 12 cuts for your breadsticks. This allows the bread sticks to break apart when cooled.
  6. Bake 15-20 minutes until browned. Check often after 10 minutes as time will vary based on the oven and thickness of the dough.
