Prep Notes

Use Organic Products Whenever Possible

Ingredients

12 -15 Slices Gluten Free Bread , cubed (other regular bread if not

gluten free)

2 1/2 Cups Shredded Cheese (Cheddar, Gruyere, other)

2 1/2 Cups Milk (Whole milk gives it the most body)

8 Large Eggs (approximately 2 Cups)

3 TB chopped fresh Parsley (can use dried Parsley)

1 tsp Paprika

1/2 tsp ground white pepper

Spices of your choice (optional)


Filling choices are completely up to you.

Suggestions:

2 Cups Partially cooked Asparagus and 16 Ounces Crab

Or

20 Ounces Steamed Spinach and 16 Ounces sauteed mushrooms (or just one of these)

Or

16 Ounces Smoked Salmon

Or

Vegetables of your choice that are not watery

Or

Whatever you have leftover in the house or enjoy

Directions

  1. Preheat Oven to 350 degrees
  2. Place half of the bread in greased 9 x 13 baking dish
  3. Cover the layer of bread with the cheese
  4. Cover the cheese with your toppings of choice
  5. Cover toppings with remaining bread cubes
  6. In large bowl combine eggs, milk, parsley, pepper, and paprika any other spices and pour over the casserole. Press down on the top layer of bread to help the bread absorb all the liquid.
  7. Let stand for 20 minutes or cover and chill overnight, if desired.
  8. Bake 55-65 minutes or until knife inserted in the center comes out clean

Great as a Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch or Dinner main course. Use your imagination to select your ingredients to suit the meal.
